The future of Saint Luke’s congregation will be determined in the next few years. The call by the Vestry of a new rector, if that occurs soon (as expected), will start a transition to new leadership that, hopefully, will be a collaborative partnership of the ordained and the lay leaders of the congregation based on mutual respect. A partnership of this nature has eluded Saint Luke’s Church for the last two decades. This will be time of change – moving from the negativity of the past into a positive and productive future.

The Holy Spirit may be subtly urging you to join the primary leadership team of the congregation – the Vestry – to be an active team player in determining a positive and productive future for Saint Luke’s Church. There are six open positions – Junior Warden and five Vestry members. If you sense that spiritual call, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee, listed here, to discuss it.

In addition to the vestry members, at the Annual Meeting the congregation will also elect two delegates and two alternates who will represent Saint Luke’s Church at the annual Convention of the Diocese of Washington. Today is the deadline for the submission of all nominations. Please use the nominating form that is included in the booklet.
